About the clinic

Medipolis Proton Therapy and Research Center has treated more than 5,500 patients since 2011, notably for prostate and lung cancer. Proton beams release most of their energy at a set depth (the Bragg peak), limiting damage to surrounding tissue, and sessions of 10–30 minutes are given as an outpatient. Patients can stay at the adjacent Amafuru-Oka accommodation, and follow-up continues for 5–10 years.
